Orchid is a recently renovated apartment within the converted Tythe Barn at Stancombe Manor. The estate has 21 acres of woodland, open space and cider orchards and is set in a peaceful valley in South Hams, Devon.
South Hams is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Stancombe provides the perfect location for exploring all that this idyllic part of South Devon and the surrounding areas have to offer; rolling countryside, coastal walks and varied and beautiful beaches within easy driving distance. The excellent facilities at Stancombe set it apart from many similar properties in the area. The heated swimming pool and sauna are open all year, the oak panelled snooker room hosts a full size table, and the children’s playroom includes table tennis and lots of toys.
Outside, there is a play area for children with swings, a wobbly belt see-saw, hangout net and slide, and rolling lawn allowing plenty of space to run around freely. There are several barbecue areas with wooden tables/benches for alfresco dining and also tranquil spots and suntraps to unwind and enjoy a good book or just absorb the peace and quiet…
The village of Sherford with its 13th century church and thatched cottages is within walking distance and the nearest shop/bakery is five minutes’ drive in the village of Frogmore. The charming estuary town of Kingsbridge is ten minutes’ drive and offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, cinema and a very helpful Information Centre on the town quay.
